A business unit of RTI International, RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS) provides consulting and research expertise to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics and medical device companies. Located across the US and Europe, our staff have led projects in approximately 40 countries.  Our research and consulting services focus on health economics and outcomes research. Our various practice areas include: Health Economics, Patient Reported Outcomes, Pharmacoepidemiology, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance, Market Access and Outcomes Strategy, Biostatistics, Clinical Services and Health Preference Assessment.
We are currently seeking a Research Associate to work in our Market Access and Outcomes Strategy team. This position will be based in Manchester, United Kingdom.

This position requires at least one year of writing experience in a healthcare/medical communications agency, consultancy or clinical research/regulatory environment. You must have a degree in a relevant life-science or medical subject. A post-graduate qualification is advantageous, but not a requirement. You must be able to understand scientific information and use that knowledge for the preparation of accurate and well-written deliverables that clients require for internal and external purposes.

The work is structured on a project basis and will involve working on several different projects in different therapy areas at any one time. You will be responsible for writing literature reviews and associated manuscripts, reimbursement submission dossiers, product value dossiers, and other value communications. In order to support both systematic and targeted literature review projects, you will also be involved in reviewing abstracts and publications identified as part of a literature search, extracting data, assessing study quality, and developing detailed reports of findings from a literature search under the guidance of senior staff members. Additional tasks will include conducting desktop research to gather, analyze, and summarize appropriate information for incorporation into various documents or slide sets.

You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, attention to detail and should be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Life sciences or medical degree, with at least one year of medical writing experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interface confidently with colleagues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple projects at the same time
  • Preferred (but not essential):
  • MSc or PhD
  • Experience writing global value dossiers, reimbursement dossiers, and literature reviews
