We are currently looking for
Medical Writers with a background in
Vision Science. Specifically we are looking for people with a background in
optometry (PhD required) and strong knowledge of psychophysics to work in our
Ophthalmology team. We provide medical and scientific writing services for the pharmaceutical, surgical and devices industries and the role of the medical writer is to use their knowledge of the therapy area to communicate effectively to their peers and healthcare professionals, while working to the highest ethical standards and adhering to industry regulations and guidelines. Our outputs are usually training materials for pharmaceutical company employees, materials for healthcare professionals as well as support for publications and scientific presentations.
This is a full-time position and can be based in the UK or the US. Applicants must have right to work documentation. We cannot accept applications from anyone needing sponsorship to work.
Position details
- Accurate scientific writing, editing and data analysis
- Content development, with direction, including appropriate formatting, referencing, and annotation of deliverables
- Begin to learn the scientific strategy for the assigned product(s) and its markets
- Participate in conference calls with clients and advisory board meetings
- Travel to and/or remotely participate in off-site meetings and scientific congresses
- Work as part of a scientific team and a team of colleagues.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of biometry and vision science
- MD or PhD degree in an ophthalmology discipline (or relevant experience)
- Experience with ophthalmology devices would be an advantage but not essential
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, respond quickly and efficiently, and keep situations under control, in a fast-paced dynamic work environment
- Willingness and ambition to learn and take on new skills
- Proven proactive approach to your work
- Highly motivated.
