PsiOxus Therapeutics Ltd is an award-winning UK/US development stage biotechnology company developing novel “tumour re-engineering” therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, with a focus on immunotherapeutic approaches. We currently have two transgene-expressing T-SIGn cancer gene therapy candidates in Phase I/II clinical development and are further developing our innovative platform technology and pipeline of new pre-clinical and research candidates. We have active collaborations in the UK & USA, including Bristol Myers Squibb, bluebird bio (Boston) on T-SIGn combinations with CAR-T cell therapy and with the Parker Institute for Immunotherapy (San Francisco).
 
Main purpose of the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated junior medical writer / medical writer to join our medical writing team at an extremely exciting time. This role provides a great opportunity to work closely with our experienced medical, clinical and regulatory teams to support the successful development of our novel T-SIGn platform in advanced cancers through the development of key clinical documents and publications.
  • Write and/or support the development of a range of high-quality clinical documents, including regulatory documents, publications, reports and slide sets
  • Support medical, clinical and research projects and reports by providing advice and assistance in formatting and document development
  • Work collaboratively with team members including the Senior Medical Writer and Head of Medical Science, as an integral member of project teams and study teams
  • Input into functional team meetings as appropriate.
Key role responsibilities
  • Write and/or support the development of a range of clinical documents, producing high quality clear, accurate and grammatically correct work
  • Manage the development and review of documents, ensuring compliance with timelines and internal and external guidelines/SOPs
  • Support medical teams in objectively evaluating scientific literature and data to support document development
  • Contribute to and/or lead document quality control – reviewing data accuracy, formatting and appropriateness of language, and compliance to industry guidelines
  • Take prompt and appropriate action where inadequacies in written documents are identified
  • Ensure documents developed in-house meet all relevant regulatory guidelines.
Candidate profile

Technical experience and qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a life sciences or medical discipline 
  • One year’s experience in a medical writing position, either within a medical communications company, a CRO or a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated skills in technical writing and a solid understanding of life-sciences
  • Experience with development of complex scientific/medical documents
  • Strong experience in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Personal Abilities and Traits
  • Ability to effectively organise content and messages in clinical reports and summary documents
  • Ability to assimilate complex data into clear and concise messages
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, while maintaining adherence to quality control procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • ​Self-starter able to work in a team environment with minimal direction.
