About the role

If so, we’re excited to offer a job opportunity for a publications-savvy Editorial Director to join a large and growing respiratory publications account. You also need to be a natural collaborator and relish the opportunity to nurture a team. Are you ready for the challenge?

As part of this role, you will have overall leadership of a large publications account, with a people-focused role centred on resourcing and team development. You will also act as the primary contact for the client and work closely with client services colleagues. Working with the scientific lead, you will have responsibility for ensuring the high quality of all deliverables. You will lead and support a team of medical writers and work closely with the account teams, client services and project management to deliver excellence for our clients. As valued member of the senior Scientific Services team, you will play a crucial role in the recruitment, development, and alignment of colleagues across the multiple accounts. What you''ll do

  • Overall line management responsibilities for a medical writing team (professional development of line reports, identifying training needs, performance reviews, recruitment etc.)
  • Continuous management, review and improvement of editorial processes and procedures
  • Responsibility for resource planning and ensuring the high quality of all deliverables, as measured by client satisfaction
  • Facilitate inter-departmental working practices to ensure optimum performance
  • Actively participate in senior management meetings, driving any agreed actions with scientific services teams

About you 

  • Publications expert, with 5 years’+ experience working on publications
  • 5–10 years''''+ experience in a medical communications agency environment, including medical writing experience and editorial management experience
  • Experience working on a high-volume account
  • CMPP qualification advantageous
  • Bachelors degree in the life sciences; PharmD or PhD highly preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of MS office, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Positive attitude that leads the team by example
